Kant’s metaphysics holds that a physical object is an appearance, not a thing existing on its own. The Jew is a materialist so he rejects this. By Kant’s theory Space is in us. It is an aspect of our perception, not something existing on its own. This is why we can know it with absolute certainty. That the shortest distance between two points is a straight line is not an empirical observation but is known before observations are made. The Jew rejects this. He thinks nothing is known before experience. Thus to the Jew the fact that the shortest distance between any two points is extremely probable but is not known with absolute certainty.
