A tympanometry test checks to see how your eardrum and bones in your middle ear are working: A small device will be placed in your ear. The device will send air and sound into your ear, which makes your eardrum move. You’ll feel the air pressure inside your ear.
Anatomy of the ear
The ear has three main parts. These parts include the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Each section is made up of structures that play a role in changing sound waves into signals that go to the brain.
