As of today, March 6, 2023, I think President Trump shut the door on all potential 2024 Republican primary challengers with his tour de force speech this Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Trump outpolled the only serious rival, DeSanctimonious, by 62% to 20%. With others in single digits. This event was a huge moment in the 2024 march. The smartest thing Ron DeSantis could do now would be to issue a big endorsement of Trump. A continued challenge to the founder and leader of the MAGA movement will end up being the dumbest move in DeSantis’ political career.
