Tonight, June 1, 2026, the Trump Phenomenon looks at four powerful ways in which President Trump is setting up the Mullahs and their hated fellow Communists for complete overthrow in Iran….by the Iranian people, more than 90% of whom utterly hate the tyrants who have ruined their once-great Iran for 47 years.

Operating costs for a US warship are actually much higher near Iran than back home. When deployed, fuel costs skyrocket because the ship is constantly maneuvering at high alert. Crew receive hazard pay and combat zone compensation. Resupply has to happen at sea or through distant ports, which is far more expensive than home port logistics. And the higher operational tempo accelerates wear and tear on engines, weapons systems, and electronics.

Near home, ships can plug into shore power, access repair yards easily, and operate at reduced readiness — cutting costs significantly. A carrier strike group deployed overseas runs roughly $6–8 million per day, which can drop by half or more during low-activity periods closer to home.

So yeah, location and threat level have a massive impact on what it actually costs to keep a warship running.
