Every Thursday, John Moore—the infomercial guy—introduces his guest, Dr. Len Horowitz, by pretending not to know how many books Horowitz has written: “twenty-five, twenty-six books…we’re not sure how many, but who’s counting…?”
He repeats this routine week after week, despite the fact that the actual number would be easy to verify. Why keep up this charade? Why not simply settle on a number and state it plainly, instead of acting clueless every time?
