The real holocaust is the horror of President Eisen-fucking-hower’s Rhine Meadows Death Camps where over 2 million disarmed Germans were kept in open-air concentration camps and not be given food, water or shelter. Millions died.
In total it was 13 million german PoW of which about close to 8 million were in the western zones, US UK France, and the US had about 7 million in Rheinwiesenlager, the 2 million is a bit short, the estimates are about 1 million died in the camps, read James Bacque about it “Crimes&Mercies” its on archive org too.
Sure the official death numer of the Rheinwiesenlager is 6000 max, downplaying just like Dresden had official only 25K victims, thats what they do, downplay the german numbers.
Just read a book “Der Luftkrieg über Deutschland” sehr empfehlenswert, very detailed near every air raid and event of the germans and allies, and you clearly have the quotes they always aimed directly for civilians and resident area, for cities they had the target jsut hit the inner city, in the first years they could even hit precise but only bomb just the inner city.

My grandparents both had to run from Silesia, to north germany, very good read about the time 1945,
“Silesias Inferno” was published in english by the IHR for some time, or in german “Schlesiens Inferno” you can still find both on ebay, not always cheap cause out of print.
Or “Die Tragödie Schlesiens 1945/46” the tragedy of Silesia,this is actually as pdf on archive org, it is sure out of print too

Im happy i could buy both books in german original. And beware, Silesias Inferno is very graphic, its all eyewitness reports what happened, i had to pause often.
You can load the Handbook of the BdM and see yourself, its all just like girl scouts, and so was the HJ just like the boy scouts nothing else, see yourself the content of the Handbook.
