I don’t think any president has directly been able to say no to them for decades, not this century at least. What I’m pretty sure we’re seeing now is the more strictly zionist jews winning out over the more diaspora orientated ones. Who while not against the zionist project saw going slow as the more viable strategy and saw isolating/cutting up Russia as the more important immediate objective.

I highly suspect that this playing out was a big part of the hubbub over Trump’s first term. October 7th resolved this pretty solidly and besides, they got their conflict with Russia as well.
