Yuge! Donald Trump faces off against the dictator Chairman Xi of China today, April 7, 2025! When Xi responds to Trump’s order of a 34% tariff on China’s goods by imperiously RAISING his already punishing tariff on American goods of 67% by another 34%….what does Trump do? Wait for it. Today Trump, instead of backing down to the Communist tyrant, raised the American tariff on Chinese goods by…..wait for it…..another 50%!!!! Wow! The Vietnamese were much smarter than the full-of-himself Xi. The Vietnamese, who two days ago were charging 90% tariff on U.S. goods, immediately called up Trump, after he set the first-ever tariff on Vietnam to 46%. In that call, they very wisely told our President that they thought about it (one day!) and are immediately LOWERING their tariff on American goods to 0%. Smart move, Vietnam! Trump will immediately respond by lowering our American tariff on Vietnam’s goods to the same 0%. As Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits would sing it: “That’s the way ya’ do it, money for nothin'”!
