He discusses the political and practical side of the movement to seek a statewide referendum in November 2021, which first requires the Texas legislature to approve HB 1359, sponsored by State Rep. Kyle Biedermann (R), to pave the way for that referendum. Miller also identifies several of the obstacles and challenges involved in getting the legislature to approve the bill and allow the people to have their say on whether to proceed with the process of Texas independence.
